Social Media and SEO

Social Media is becoming very important with respect to SEO.  Listed below are some of the most important things that any small business needs to be working on as we move forward in 2010.  Google includes “real time” social media posts in its search results now … so it is critical to get involved in these areas of social networking.

  1. Write a blog!  This is an opportunity  to share thoughts about your business … be consistent (weekly) … some ideas for example is to write something  about your employees, a new product, a customer testimonial, etc…
  2. Get involved with linked in … make sure that your profile is 100% complete and use targeted key words … participate in the “answers section” on a weekly basis and then join some groups.
  3. Join Facebook! There are 350,000 000 active accounts on Facebook today.  Create a business Facebook page to be helpful … talk about an upcoming sale … or offer some coupons … be helpful and transparent … participate in this community!
  4. Twitter! Listen to what customers are saying … industry news … search on your own business name and keywords … use it for customer service …

    Very interesting way to market on facebook. I also found a way to automate a couple very powerful methods of getting users. You can capture ID by groups or pages or wall posts with this software. Then once you have the IDs you can do a friend request to your user ID or sudo profile. This by passes the captcha codes too. There is also a cool chat program that you can setup scripts and keyword to work with. This program, when I use it I can see a spike in my site traffic. It is sweet…
